Multi-file rename by pattern (find/mv)
 
The following command lets you rename many files/folders contained in the current folder at once by a pattern.
In the example, the word "word1" is replaced by "word2":

find . -depth -name '*word1*' -execdir bash -c 'mv "$0" "${0//word1/word2}"' {} ;


This should work on Mac OS X, Linux, ....
