Glossary

To place a glossary in a latex file, do the following:

Place this in header:
\usepackage{glossary}
\makeglossary

Define glossary entries in your document as follows:
\glossary{name=Ex, description=Example Entry}

Put the glossary into the document:
\printglossary
or with another title and also a mark in the table of contents:
renewcommand{glossaryname}{arabic{chapter}.1 Glossary}
printglossaryaddcontentsline{toc}{section}{protectnumberline{arabic{chapter}.1}ignorespaces{Glossary}}

Now, compile pdflatex. After, you have to create the glossary:
makeindex document.glo -s document.ist -t document.glg -o document.gls
After creating the glossary, compile pdflatex again, and then it should work!
